Magma playing De Futura from their 1977 album Üdü Wüdü. That’s right, 57% of the letters in that title are umlauts. Not that there’s any kind of correlation between umlaut count and asskickingness, but, hey. It’s still noteworthy. At about 4:58, Christian Vander (the drummer making facial expressions) starts playing some heroic shit, and looking like a total freak while he’s doing it.
I will miss you forever, buddy. Goodnight.

This coming Friday, November 6th, we’re playing at the good ol’ Hemlock Tavern.
We’re in the middle slot between a couple great bands. Pancho San opens and Hallelujah the Hills is on last.
Trailer for the theatrical release of George A. Romero’s Dawn of the Dead. Another classic, it’s up there with The Shining on the list titled Best Horror Movies of All Time.
When there’s no more room in hell, the dead will walk the earth.
Last post about The Shining, for this Halloween season, anyway: Vivian Kubrick’s The Making of The Shining. My favorite scene is Scatman Crothers crying “tears of joy,” thanking the lord, for being able to work with “such beautiful people.” Awesome.
Check out this (barely) coded message from El Governator to Tom Ammiano. Great word choice, and use of margin width, Arnold. But couldn’t you have been a little more discreet? E.g., you could have spelled out “hasta la vista, baby,” or, “it’s not a tumor,” or something. Jeez.

Monster psych by Frenchie Richard Pinhas’ early band Schizo ca. 1972. Tres incroyable.
